About this course

La Medicina of Dreams is the second class in the Curanderx Toolkit course series offered by Atava. In this class we will explore the healing and transformative power of dreams. This class is open to all levels of dreamers.

  • Learn practices to support dreaming and dream recall

  • Learn Toltec & Mexica dream practices

  • Engage in community dreamwork

  • This class centers on BIPOC community members and is a welcoming and supportive space for queer, trans, non-binary and two-spirited people.

  • How long will I have access to this course?

    Access is guaranteed for one year after purchase.

  • Will the live sessions be recorded?

    Yes, recordings will be available and posted within 72 hrs after the live class. The only exception is the Community dreamwork sesson on Sat, Dec 7th. For the privacy of dream shares, this session will not be recorded.

  • Are scholarships available?

    A limited amount of financial assistance is available to those who would like to take this course but doing so would interfere with their ability to secure food, housing, or other basic needs. Priority is given to those of Black, Indigenous, and Latinx ancestry, as well as to Palestinian people and those directly impacted by the genocide in Gaza. Scholarship applications are open October 8-22, 2024 and can be accessed by copying and pasting the following link. Applications will only be accepted starting October 8. Thank you. Atava Garcia Swiecicki

Atava Garcia Swiecicki, MA, RH (AHG) (she/her/ella) is an herbalist, author and educator who is guided by her dreams and her ancestors. She is dedicated to remembering the healing traditions of her ancestors and supporting others to reconnect with their own ancestral medicine. Atava has studied healing arts extensively for over thirty years and was the founder of Ancestral Apothecary School of Herbal, Folk & Indigenous Medicine in Oakland, CA. In 2022, Atava gave birth to her first book, The Curanderx Toolkit: Reclaiming Ancestral Latinx Plant Medicine and Rituals for Healing. She is passionate about plants, ancestral medicine practices, and healing justice. After living for over three decades in the Bay Area, Atava moved to New Mexico where she is learning how to grow food and medicine in the high desert, continuing to teach, see clients, and dreaming up her next book.
