This course was very holistic and brought in different approaches to reclaiming ancestral medicine. The topics I enjoyed learning about the most were Nauhcampa, making herbal medicine and connecting with herbal allies. But perhaps one of the most special things about this course is the connection to community. It opened up the opportunity to meet with other local curanderx/curanderes in person. As a maestra, Atava is kind. thoughtful and intentional all the way through. I definitely recommend this course if you are looking for a place to start!

Atava is a knowledgeable and caring guide who gives so much through their presence alone; truly from the beginning I could feel that I was in the presence of a capital T, Teacher. In Seeds/Semilla I gained knowledge on the foundations and history of curanderismo in a way that was accessible for my body, heart, and mind to digest and understand. The mix between online self-study and group gatherings gave me the space to absorb the lectures at a pace that I could handle, so when I was in the live zoom gatherings I had more presence to connect with Atava, the other curanderxs in the community, and my own embodied experience. The pre-recorded meditations and prompts were so juicy and continue to bring me closer to my ancestors, the directions, and this path. Truly grateful!
